Adventure time

   

       I’m a fan of this Cartoon Network animated creation “Adventure Time of Finn and Jake” by “Pendleton Ward”. It was released on April 5, 2010 and was received with massive positive statement. A superb journey of two best buds in different places saving princesses, making new friends and discovering the different phases of reality in the “Land of Ooo”. That take time in “ Post Apocalyptic Future” about a thousand years after a nuclear war also known as the “Great Mushroom War”. The scenario take place after the bombs have fallen and magic has come back into the world- (According to Ward).This animated series is described as a dark comedy, but for me it’s full of mystery and the feel of unknown. What I mean by the “feel of unknown “is more on this scenario – watching it is not like a daily cartoon there is a certain kind of feeling that your looking for a clue on what happened to every character, why they look like that and why they always on the go for an adventure to saves something. I love dark comedy where it is compose of the feeling of happiness and scared at the same time. If you watch one of its series it will actually tell you the “scared factor” that I mean, because of the odd and strange characters, attitude and where the story took place.

          The main character are Finn, the 14 year old human boy – if you have seen some of the series you will notice that he is the only human resemblance on of all the character as well as "Susan" though there’s kind of doubt if she is really a human or she belongs to a strange fish-headed, animal-hatted mutant tribe is. Finn has burning characteristic little boy with strong morals that saves them in every temptation situations. His fears include the ocean, clowns, spiders, and being judged by older people due to his age. Finn is in a relationship with "Flame Princess" and that is another story to find out. And then there’s "Jake" the dog, Finn’s best friend with his magical powers where he can change his body into different kinds of shapes and shrink if he likes. He has this character of being a happy go lucky dog who loves to play viola and willing fight with Finn in different situations and monstrous characters in the Land of Ooo. Jake has also have a bad past where he use to steal bikes and purses from old lady base on the episode shown. He has a relationship with "Lady Rainicorn", who is pregnant with their children.

          Next is "Princess Bubblegum", the cute lady in pink, she is a humanoid candy most likely to described, with the heart of kindness and elegance. She rule the Candy Kingdom where populated by different kind of lovely desserts and candies. She loves doing sort of experiments to protect the kingdom to different type of desperado monster.

          Let’s move on to my favorite character "Marceline the Vampire Queen", a thousand years old mysterious type girl vampire with her bass that made from her family’s heirloom battle axe. Not like the popular vampire we know, Marceline is not sucking blood out of human or animals, she eats only the color red out of the objects. She's fun, she is adventurous, scary – well most likely because she always chase and scared Finn and Jake, she’s artistic and only want to be love by her father.

          Next “Lumpy Space Princess” in short “LSP” when you see this character you will burst to laugh in hearing her voice, it’s more like a British gay speaking in a manly tone of voice.  She is a Princess in the “Lumpy Space” that is sort of a sky palace in different dimension of the galaxy. She is a is an extraterrestrial creature known as a "Lumper" which looks like a floating purple cloud with arms and a face, and can convert other beings into Lumpers by biting them. “LSP” characters are like an intimidated girl and she got this addiction of improving herself in different way. She also like running away from home because she hates her parents most of the time-that they don’t understand her: she got fake friends and she wants to hang out with Finn and Jake.

          Lastly another great character “The Ice King”- for me he is kind of a villain with a heart. That means that he is bad but also has good soul. I think the reason why she kidnapped princesses is just to find someone who can understand him- someone who can accept him as he is (ehem). But also base on Ward series that I watched entitled “Holly Jolly Secrets” Finn and Jake discover a VHS tape that they watched using Beemo (more likely a PlayStation), that The Ice King was also a human and just got his powers on the golden crown that he just purchased, still I'm confused of his origin.

          There are lot of characters in this wonderful adventure of Finn and Jake but it’s for you to find out who are they. After reading this I’m sure you’re most likely to have an interest on this animated series. It’s still showing in the “Cartoon Network”, how I wish I can have all those copies and watch them in marathon with a bunch of potato chips, salsa, orange juice and my best friend who also a fan of it.
